The Forsyth Missouri Library also has a comprehensive Genealogy Department which is utilized on a daily basis by people in search of their family history.      
   
Some of the materials available include Taney County census, cemetery, marriage, and land records.  There are microfilm copies of the Taney County newspapers as well as old courthouse records.    
   
The Genealogy Department is also staffed by knowledgeable volunteers who are available Tuesday through Friday from 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m.

You can now purchase Deaths Reported In Taney County Missouri Newspapers, Volume 1 - 1887 to 1907 This book has more than 700 names from obituaries, news articles and local community items.  These books can be purchased at the Forsyth Library for $10.00 each.  If you would like to purchase a book through the mail, please send a check payable to Forsyth Library, P. "Deaths Reported in Taney County Missouri Newspapers, Vol. I, 1887 to 1907."   This book contains over 700 names from obituaries, news articles, and local community items. $13 includes shipping.

"Deaths Reported in Taney County Missouri Newspapers, Vol. II, 1908-1917."   This follow-up book contains over 1200 names reported in death notices, obituaries, and other resources from 1908-1917. $18 includes shipping.
